Designate the Team Captain
and a Pledge Captain |
|
|
Team Captain - recruit your
team! A dragon boat team usually consists of 25 people, with
20 paddlers, a drummer and a steersperson in the boat at one
time. If necessary your steersperson will be provided by the
Festival, at no cost to your team. Note: at least
8 paddlers in the boat must be women |
|
|
Complete the Registration
Form and return to Barrie Public Library with cheque
or Visa payment |
|
|
Barrie Public Library will
confirm your registration |
|
|
Choose your drummer (the
person who sits at the front of the boat) |
 |
Steersperson (the person
who steers the boat from the back): if you wish to train your
own steersperson more information will be available closer to
the festival. If necessary a steersperson will be provided by
the Festival, at no cost to your team. |
 |
Pledge Captain - check out
our "In
support of
" page and inform your team.
Print off the Pledge Form and distribute one form to each team
member. Note: this pledge form is specific to the registered
charitable information of Barrie Public Library - if you choose
to pledge to another charity then you must use a pledge form
geared to that charity, and make arrangements with that charity
to receive your pledged amount. |
|
|
Read the Rules
and Regulations to familiarise yourself with the race format
and guidelines |
|
|
Team Captain - print
off the Team
Roster and the Waiver
form, then distribute one copy to each team
member. All team members must complete a waiver form before
participation in the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival or in practices.
|
|
|
Team Captain - meet
with your team and plan your strategies, then get busy getting
ready!
