Library service is an essential component of a community's social, economic, educational, political and cultural development and Barrie Public Library boasts one of the highest membership and usage rates in Ontario

The main funds raised through the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival are in support of Barrie Public Library's Branching Out Campaign, to help build the first branch library in south Barrie. In addition, every dragon boat team registering in the festival must also bring a minimum of $500 in pledges. These pledges can be for Barrie Public Library, or for the charity of your choice.
